Pacific New Media Contemporary Photography in Hawaii 2024 – Official Selection: “Tyler”
During a portraiture workship in Brooklyn last year, I was fortunate enough to spent a good part of it with Tyler, an extraordinarily photogenic young man. This image of him was my favorite; it’s that moment between poses —the pause—that somehow reveals a soul, in a quiet way.
By trying to shoot what’s going on inside a person’s mind, I am often surprised when I get a photo of someone’s heart. Here he is both contemplative and reserved, yet I had the privilege to capture and share this private moment.
