Pacific New Media Contemporary Photography in Hawaii 2021 – Official Selection: “Through the Window, 2021”
I was photographing a ground blessing in the Papakōlea neighborhood for a new home to be built for a multi-generation family with the help of volunteers from Honolulu Habitat for Humanity. As I was packing up to leave the site, so was the family.
This girl is the great granddaughter of the homeowners. I walked past her as she was tucked into her car seat and, through the open car window, created this portrait.
